GDPR Compliance
Discover, classify and defensibly manage personal data across your archive. We help organisations meet their GDPR obligations with confidence and avoid the penalties that come from non-compliance.
Book a Discovery Call →The regulation
GDPR has been enforceable since May 2018. The penalties are significant.
All personal data must be discoverable upon request and any judged lack of compliance is liable to incur substantial penalties. For minor breaches, fines reach up to 2% of annual worldwide turnover or 10 million euros. For more serious breaches the figure rises to 4% of turnover or 20 million euros.
The challenge for most organisations is not intent but visibility. If you cannot locate, classify and produce personal data on demand, you are exposed regardless of your policies.
What you must be able to answer
What personal data do you hold?
Where is it stored?
Why are you retaining it?
How long do you need to keep it?
Who has access to it?
How we help
Three practical steps to GDPR readiness
Discover all your data
Our data discovery tool integrates with your archiving and security solutions to gather metadata about your environment. It listens to read, write and security events and collects information on a periodic basis so you have an accurate picture of what personal data you hold and where it lives.
Classify and tag
Enterprise Vault Classification uses pre-configured country-specific Personal Information policies to discover personal data or create customised policies. It searches across multiple languages and assigns tags to emails and files making them easily identifiable during legal discovery.
Migrate and delete with confidence
Once we understand the type and location of personal data, we can migrate it into Enterprise Vault, Exchange or Microsoft 365 as appropriate. The Classification Engine automates assigning retention categories to classified data so organisations can delete data with full confidence it is the right decision.
Data subject rights
Your obligation to individuals
Under GDPR, data subjects are entitled to ask what data you hold about them, to see it, update it and delete it. They can request restriction on processing and ask to have their data provided in a portable format. Our tools make responding to these requests practical and auditable.
Ready to get started
Know what personal data you hold. Then manage it properly.
Tell us about your environment and your current compliance position. We will assess where the gaps are and what the most practical path to readiness looks like.
